Earphones – Green Overview

With conventional earphones much of the sound never makes it into the ear. To stop this kind of leakage, we have developed earphones that can be adjusted to fit the contours and curves of the individual ear. The speaker unit itself can be moved up or down or side to side until the most comfortable and effective position is found. This ensures that they sit comfortably and firmly regardless of whether you are jogging or just relaxing.

Check Out JVC HA-FX300B In-Ear Headphones (Black) for $42.28

JVC HA-FX300B In-Ear Headphones (Black) Review

I bought these headphones as an upgrade to my JVC HAFX33A Marshmallow In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Blue) which I was actually very happy with. I decided that since I used my headphones a lot I should probably upgrade them, and since I was happy with my previous JVC headphones, I decided to buy a higher end product from the same maker. These headphones are well reviewed on Consumer Reports, so I decided to give them a try. The sound quality is very good and they feel comfortable in my ear, slightly more comfortable than my previous pair. One complaint I have is with regard to the over the ear style. The headphones are designed so that the wire loops over the top of your ear, and although not particularly uncomfortable, I think I prefer the more traditional style of my previous headphones. Another important aspect is the sound quality of these headphones vs the Marshmallow model that I used previously (also made by JVC). I have compared them by listening to songs with one pair of headphones and then the other multiple times and although the sound does seem slightly better with this model, it is not significantly better. Unless you are a serious audiophile, you will probably not notice much of a difference. The Marshmallow model is selling for anywhere from -15, whereas these cost as of right now. I would be willing to say that if compared side by side, 90% of people would not consider the difference in sound quality worth the extra . If you are reading this review, you may be someone who does consider a marginal improvement in sound quality worth , and if that is the case you will not be disappointed with this excellent pair of headphones. If price is an issue, however, I would definitely consider the Marshmallow model as another option.

JVC HA-FX300B In-Ear Headphones (Black) Feature

  • Bi-Metal structure
  • Powerful 8.5mm drivers with neodymium magnets
  • Comfortable and customized fit with 3 sizes of ear tips
  • Superior sound isolation
  • Gold-plated iPhone compatible plug

JVC HA-FX300B In-Ear Headphones (Black) Overview

The new JVC HA-FX300 employs a range of sound-enhancing technologies, including an aluminum evaporation diaphragm, a new internal dual-metal structure and aluminum housing. The new aluminum evaporation diaphragm used in the HA-FX300 reproduces high-frequency detail more accurately than conventional cellulose or polymer-based diaphragm designs. To further enhance performance, the headphone features JVC’s new Bi-Metal structure. The drive unit is housed in a stainless steel base wrapped in a high-specific-gravity brass ring to eliminate vibration and energy loss. Other innovations are aluminum housings, designed to reduce resonance, and the use of OFC (oxygen-free copper) to minimize transmission loss in the 1-meter cord. The HA-FX300 also offers a plug that is compatible with Apple’s iPhone. To ensure a snug, comfortable fit, the headphones come with three different sized silicon rubber earpieces and a pair of memory foam earpieces for a customized fit. These provide superior isolation from external sounds and minimize sound leakage.

GOOD HEADPHONES BUT THE JVC HAFX-66 SOUND JUST AS GOOD FOR LESS – Cameron Monti – Carpentersville, IL
Don’t get me wrong. These JVC headphones sound EXCELLENT and are very comfortable. The foam earbuds are awesome and they do NOT fall out of my ear when I run and workout. The bass response is punchy and deep, and the highs are crystal clear. With all in-ear type headphones, how the earbuds fit in your ear makes up about 75% of the sound quality. HOWEVER, so too do the much more affordable JVC HAFX-66 model. In fact, owning both, I cannot tell a difference between the sound quality. Also, I like the design of the less expensive HAFX-66 because the cord on each earbud faces DOWN, as opposed to the HA-FX300B which faces upward, requiring you to loop the cord behind your ear — I find this appealing at all. Thus, when the GREAT sound quality is the same between the two models, yet the design and price is better with the less expensive, HAFX-66 model, this is a rare instance where a more expensive model from the same manufacturer does not translate into a superior product. I suppose this is more of a review or recommendation for the HAFX-66 rather than the HAFX300. I don’t want to say something like “at this price point, you can’t get better sound than the HAFX-66s,” because even at 0.00, I would strongly recommended the cheaper HAFX66 over the HAFX300s.

Not a balanced sound – Will – Chicago. IL
I have owned a couple mid range priced earbuds and these are by far the most disappointing I have come across in terms of sound quality. Though they are aesthetically pleasing and fairly ergonomic in that they are comfortable in my ear and do not become dislodged, the sound quality is a mess. With such a large range I expected a more prevalent bass and clearer highs, all I heard was an almost painful amplification of the mids and some highs. I cannot even wear them anymore because the sound is so harsh and I am planning on returning them. I cannot think of a specific reason to get a pair of earbuds like this, I highly recommend staying away from this product.

Very good earphones for the price – K. Ziegler – Madison, NJ
Good sound quality for in ear model. At the sale price of probably better than most anything else out there including the BOSE model.
